5 tactics 90% of business owners don’t know

businessman

I’m feeling so lucky to have you here.

Do you know that only a few businessmen spend time learning more about business?

You’re one of them. Not gonna waste your time. Let’s jump straight into the topic.

Know your audience more than they know themselves:

In this modern age, knowing only your customers’ age, gender, where they live, and interests is not enough.

Dive deep into every detail. What do they think of? What are their biggest aspirations? What fears keep them awake?

Imagine having a testimonial describing the problem you know most of your potential customers are suffering from.

They are very likely to buy from you.

It’s not enough to know that they like dogs. Know what breed they like. Do they pet dogs? If so, how many?

I know you get my point. You’re smart.

Know where they hang out. Knowing if they use Facebook or TikTok is not enough. Which pages or posts do they spend most of their time on?

Nor is it enough to know that they go to the restaurant.

Know where do they get their information. Is it Google? Any particular blog? Or is it YouTube?

Know where do they prefer to communicate. Don’t try to communicate with them in ways they’re to very familiar of rather talk to them according to their convenience.

Know the phrases and vernaculars they use. While writing a ad copy or any type of social media post, use them. They should feel like they’re talking to a person they already know.

What does a day in your customer’s life look like?

Let’s assume that you sell clothes for newborn babies. So, your customers are moms who stay home. The routine should be somewhat like this:

Morning:

  1. 6:00 AM: Wake up when the baby cries for a feeding.
  2. 6:15 AM: Change the baby’s diaper and nurse or bottle-feed.
  3. 6:45 AM: Put the baby back to sleep in the bassinet or crib.
  4. 7:00 AM: Prepare breakfast for herself and any other family members.
  5. 7:30 AM: Eat breakfast while keeping an eye on the baby’s monitor or listening for any sounds from the nursery.
  6. 8:00 AM: Shower and get dressed for the day while the baby is still sleeping or playing quietly.
  7. 8:30 AM: If the baby is awake, engage in some gentle playtime or cuddles.
  8. 9:00 AM: Start a load of laundry and tidy up any clutter around the house.

Midday: 9. 10:00 AM: Feed the baby again, followed by another diaper change.

  1. 10:30 AM: Put the baby down for a nap in a safe sleeping environment.
  2. 11:00 AM: Take some time for yourself: read a book, catch up on emails, or do a quick workout.
  3. 12:00 PM: Prepare a light lunch for herself and perhaps do some meal prep for dinner.
  4. 12:30 PM: Eat lunch and tidy up the kitchen.
  5. 1:00 PM: Check on the baby and spend some time interacting if awake, or use this time for chores or other household tasks while the baby sleeps.

Afternoon: 15. 2:00 PM: Feed the baby again, followed by another diaper change.

  1. 2:30 PM: Maybe go for a short walk with the baby in a stroller or carrier if the weather is nice.
  2. 3:30 PM: Settle the baby for another nap and take a moment to relax or do a small household task.
  3. 4:00 PM: Begin thinking about dinner plans and start any necessary prep work.
  4. 5:00 PM: Feed the baby again, followed by some playtime or cuddles.
  5. 5:30 PM: Prepare and eat dinner with the family, perhaps with the baby in a high chair nearby.
  6. 6:30 PM: Bathe the baby and get them ready for bed.

Evening: 22. 7:30 PM: Feed the baby one last time before bedtime.

  1. 8:00 PM: Put the baby down to sleep for the night.
  2. 8:30 PM: Tidy up the living areas and prepare for the next day.
  3. 9:00 PM: Spend quality time with partner or engage in a relaxing activity for herself.
  4. 10:00 PM: Get ready for bed and try to get some rest before the next feeding session.

Keep in mind that your customers don’t behave the same on Sunday morning and Tuesday morning.

Also, track their daily activity. When do they wake up, when do they eat lunch, when do they return from work or go to sleep, and everything in between.

Now, the most important of all, you have to know your audience more than they know themselves.

So, when you pitch them, you’ll easily create an authority who can solve problems.

Provide Value:

In today’s world, we are centered by a lot of businesses. They all have the same goal.

To sell their products or services to us.

How do you stand out?

You guessed it right!

You have to provide so much value that your customers see you as a friend, not as some businessmen who have nothing to do with you but sell.

Be very much benevolent in providing everything your audience needs or likes.

No, I’m not telling you to give away everything for free.

If you build that trust among your followers, you’ll be easily able to sell whatever you want.

So, engage with them. Listen to what they say.

You’ll be able to modify your product better if you start by providing value.

They say, “Customer is king.”

Use Competitors to outsmart them:

If you know your customers and provide them value consistently; you’re already ahead of your 90% competition!

But it’s good be informed what they’re doing. How they are approaching the same customers you’re targeting.

It’s not enough just to stalk their social media profiles or go through their websites.

Know how they process their order.

You can order the same products or services that you’re selling and note how they approach you.

What they say, how they deliver.

You don’t have to order all of their products. You know how most selling products or high revenue products.

Order them from your top 2/3 competitors and analyze them.

Use them to improve your product and communication with your potential customers.

The only way to keep your customers:

We mostly engage with our customers through social media.

But think of it.

Do we really have them?

Those social media platforms can ban our pages anytime for violating any rules.

Even if they were unintentional.

So, what’s the solution?

Email Marketing

Get the Emails of your potential customers. Talk to them daily.

Not about your products or company only…

80% of your emails should be for your customers. Again, provide value.

Many businesses use Email templates, but I’d recommend not using them.

Maybe you’re wondering why I would do that. Think of your own email box.

You’ll see 2 types of mail in a broad category. 1 is personal and the other is Promotional.

And what we can do to address those irritating emails. We select and delete them.

So, our mail should be as if we’re sending the mails to our friends. So, they can easily resonate.

Networking can make you millions [Proven way]:

No matter what industry you’re working in, all businesses are interconnected, and your business needs other businesses to survive.

Now, the other businesses that you interact with know or connect people who are your dream buyers.

If you develop a good relationship with other businesses, they can help you to get more customers by referring your products or services to them.

For example, if you’re a web developer and have an agency where you build websites for clients. You need people to help you with SEO. On the other hand, many businesses want more visibility, but they don’t have a website. If the SEO service company is on good terms with you, they will refer their clients to you for building a website.

It’s an easy and proven method, but not many people use it. If you think referrals won’t help you for free, you can also give them some gifts in exchange for their help.

These are some compelling ways to get your business to the next level.

I hope you’ll apply them. Share your thoughts. We’d love to know what you’re thinking.
